Hey Beautiful, Good Morning!
It was early morning and I was lying in bed dreaming when I was awaken
by a thud. I jumped up and looked around my second story bedroom... nothing. I
looked into the hall and found the house alarm still armed. Hmph, I thought,
and I climbed back into bed. A few moments later, I heard tapping coming from
the vicinity of my window. I went to the slades and pulled them apart,
expecting to find a bunch of kids trying to irritate me. Instead, I found my
sweetheart, standing at the bottom of a ladder that had been placed at the sill
of my window. He was standing next to 60, yes, 60, long, red roses laid at his
feet. He dropped the pebble in his hand and said, "Hey, beautiful, good
morning." I started to cry immediately. We had been dating seriously now for
about a year and a half, however, we had known each other for almost ten years.
We were high school sweethearts. In fact, he was my very first date, my very
first kiss. At fifteen, everybody thinks that they are dating the man they are
going to marry, who could have known that in my case, it was true. We went our
separate ways for a while, however, we were always drawn back together. So here
I was, looking down at my entire future, smiling nervously up at me. He climbed
the ladder up to my window and began singing our song. "Well here we are
again... I guess it must be fate..." Then he began altering the words to
pertain to our own love story.... he pulled a tresure box out of his pocket and
opened it as he sang. Inside the box was the most beautiful ring I had ever
seen (which I later discovered he designed). He finished his song with "I know
its meant to be, forever you and me.... marry me!" And I, of course, said yes!
